An Ametrine pair rectangular cut, with ~19x9mm.
The pair was carefully selected to match as closely as possible in terms of colour saturation, zoning, and cut. Both stones have very good colour saturation, and the colour division is clearly visible, adding quality to this pair.
The total weight is 23.18ct.
Ametrines are a natural variety of quartz, and a mix of Citrine and Amethyst and the colour of the zones visible within ametrine are due to differing oxidation states of iron within the crystal.
The only source of ametrine is the Anahi mine in southeastern Bolivia.
The legend tells that a Spanish conquistador discovered the mine in the 1600´s its location was lost and rediscovred in the 1960´s.
